Yesterday afternoon at 4 p.m. EDT Cincom kicked off the 2010 ERP Virtual User Summit for users of the Cincom Control ERP enterprise management system.
Our keynote speaker was Jerry Miller, Managing Director of the Cincom Manufacturing Business Solutions group. Jerry talked about transformational change in the enterprise.
Jerry summarized his message about transformation using the popular lean initiative as an example. “Lean manufacturing is most often thought of in terms of just cost reduction rather than as an overall business strategy. When implementing a lean initiative, it is imperative that manufacturers identify not only goals for traditional cost reductions but also identify the significant opportunities to increase revenues.”
Jerry went on to explain, “Lean manufacturing is about building an agile, flexible enterprise that can produce high-quality products using the least amount of resources in a cycle time short enough to manufacture to customer demand. Lean manufacturing, when done right, easily pays for itself very quickly and should be viewed as your “X-Factor” and an opportunity to truly transform your business.“
Jerry’s message was well received by a large group of attendees dialed into the Webex format conference.
Following Jerry, Louis Columbus presented a talk on role-based data and its ever increasing value to the enterprise as a competitive resource. Our latest release of Control, Control:2010, is architected to reflect and leverage the individual, unique roles of each user within the using enterprise. Role-based data provides a competitive advantage by filtering out extraneous information to supply the user with the exact information they need to execute their responsibilities quickly and accurately.
This is the first time Cincom has used a virtual format for our user conference. It has allowed many users to attend who would not have been able to come to our conference due to travel restrictions.
The conference continues today with a demo of Cincom Control:2010.
