Tuesday afternoon we held the second session of the 2010 Cincom CONTROL User Summit.
This session featured a comprehensive demo of Cincom CONTROL:2010. Manufacturing Specialist, Ken Korn delivered the demo to the group.
Ken kicked things off with a summary of “what’s new” in the CONTROL product. Here he briefed attendees on the key elements of the new release.
• Role based design
• Business Activity Monitor
• Integrated Workflow
• MRP Now!
• Lean Execution Suite
Following this brief presentation, Ken delivered a live demo of the Cincom CONTROL:2010 product. Judging by the kinds of questions asked, there is great interest in the release and the value it delivers.

Ken talked a bit about some of the early adopter experiences with the product, citing productivity gains that have been measured anywhere from 40% to 80%.
Ken said, “In one case we had a part-add process that was requiring up to 5 minutes in the existing system. The new release has brought this down to less than a minute, actually approaching 40 seconds.”
This is the first time Cincom has used a virtual format for our user conference. It has allowed many users to attend who would not have been able to come to our conference due to travel restrictions.
The conference continues today with presentations starting at 3 P.M. EDT. There will be three presentations delivered this afternoon. These will report on product direction strategies for Cincom CONTROL, Cincom Acquire and ENVIRON.
