Who says ERP fields can’t be lucrative and exciting career paths?
Don’t be lured away from the nuts and bolts of ERP software. According to Mitch Free, Chairman and CEO of MFG.com, manufacturing software like ERP is developing into some of the most fast-paced, exciting and lucrative careers in this modern age of manufacturing.
This modern era of manufacturing is highly digitized. Tasks involved include programming robots and handling a lot of other technology. In the words of Free, “It’s like a video game in real life.”
Reality Check #2: “It’s Lucrative”
You can easily earn over $100,000 working in manufacturing, and because there’s a shortage, people are making even more working overtime. If you pursue a career in ERP, “you’re going to do well financially and you’re doing to be in demand,” said Free. “It pays well.”
Reality Check #3: “It’s Prevalent”
Careers in ERP fields are in high demand. “People don’t think to pursue a career in these fields because of this misconception that it’s boring,” explained Free. After often investing tens of thousands of dollars in tuition to go to a four-year university, sometimes those children who don’t know what to major in are forced to pursue a career path they aren’t necessarily passionate about, or they pursue a generic skill set.
Free recommends that anyone interested visit a local trade school. After Free discovered that a four-year university program was not the path for him, he enrolled into a trade school. It became a life-changing career choice. Listen to his complete story on Expert Access Radio.
New developments in ERP technology are paving ways for customers to develop better products, and it’s providing users with a newfound range in functionality. Contrary to popular believe, ERP software is becoming more attractive and easier to use, empowering the user experience. And that’s exciting.
