Customer-Inspired Enhancements
Many manufacturing software vendors do not carry customer-requested enhancements forward into future releases as a matter of standard operating procedures. Conversely, they may promise to make the change in future releases but not in the current, installed release. Either way, the needs of the customer are not truly addressed.
Cincom takes a different and more proactive approach. Cincom’s CIE (Customer-Inspired Enhancements) process allows our customers to obtain needed functionality applied to their “current” release with the assurance that the next release will include that enhancement as a standard part of the product.
Benefits
Benefits to the customers include:
- The acceleration of enhancements into the supported code base
- Reduced upgrade costs to later product versions
- A streamlined support process
- Direct involvement into the direction and functionality of product offerings
The CIE process accelerates the movement of customizations recommended by the customers into the supported code base for the CONTROL products. Over the last several product releases, our customers, working with our global services teams, have introduced specific customizations to the product to better support their specific business processes. The CIE process taps into those efforts and leverages each customization to become an enhancement to the basic product. When an enhancement is part of the CIE process, the enhancement will be delivered as supported code to the requesting customer’s product version, as well as to the standard code base for the “next” version of the product.
Bottom Line
CIE is a worldwide process that improves our end-users’ experience as well as their productivity. And it is a way to collaborate with our customers to expand the functionality of our product offerings. Bottom line: It does result in many measurable benefits for the customer.
